In reply to Mohr. Hi Mohr, Check the manual for your model, different models start the cooking process differently. If you model has a start button press the start button after setting the cooking time. If you model does not have a start button it should beep and start the cooking cycle around 10 seconds after you set the cook time.

I am not sure I can set the time correctly on my InstaPot. Does the toggle (+/-) switch count seconds or minutes? I need to set my pot for 1 1/2 hours for my 3 lb. frozen chuck roast.

First time using instantpot, I was making broth and after 2 hours, I get a “burn” message. I had cooked (used broth setting) on “Normal” at Low pressure. Bone dry.

In reply to Teresa. High pressure should be the default pressure setting unless you last used low pressure. The buttons and displays vary on Instant Pot models so you will need to check your manual for how to toggle between the two settings if needed.
